ResourcesThere are a number of items, tools, and resources to aid your lodge and council in organizing your One Day of Service Projects. Here is a list of resources you and your lodge can use in implementing your project:
Check out the Program Overview, which will you give you a better insight for what One Day 2005 means to the communities and lodges that are involved. This two page document is great to print off and show arrowman and other people around the community that might not understand what One Day of Service is all about. So click on the link and see what it's all about! › Community Service Guide This national publication of the Order of the Arrow aids lodges in all the facets of a community-geared service project. This guide is broken up into the three phases of community service projects: the Planning Phase, the Mobilization Phase, and the Delivery Phase. › Community Service Ideas This resource is provided by the national Order of the Arrow website and contains even more ideas of service projects your lodge can conduct. › One Day of Service Media Support This aid was developed for lodges to use in publicizing their One Day of Service Projects in local newspapers, television news programs, and other media outlets. It gives information on what to do to make your search for PR a beneficial one for your project. › Leadership In Service Award This national award is a three-part award that is available for Arrowmen to earn in 2005, 2006, and 2007. The award has two requirements with the first being service to Scouting while the other requirement is service to communities. Be sure to keep track of your One Day of Service hours so that you can earn this new award. › Clip Art The One Day of Service Committee knows that many people around the region are wondering where they can get electronic versions of the logos we use for the One Day of Service Campaign. We have made this clip art accessible to anyone who wishes to use it on their section or lodge publications or even websites. Feel free to use thes logos to help promote your One Day project across the region. › Organization Contact List Sometimes arrowmen who are planning a service project, have a difficult time finding out who they should help. This document has contact information for some of the large service groups that will be in need of your help, all you have to do is let them know. The websites of some organizations are listed which will give you more information, but the best thing to do is just call and tell them about One Day of Service 2004. |
