- Chris hails from Miami Lodge in Troy, Ohio and is an Eagle Scout, Vigil Honor recipient, Silver Beaver recipient and Distinguished Service Award recipient. Currently Chris serves on the executive board of the Miami Valley Council. As a youth Chris was elected as Chapter Chief and later elected to serve as Lodge Chief. Chris has served as Lodge Adviser, Associate Section Adviser, and Section Adviser. He has staffed countless National Leadership Seminars and National Lodge Adviser Training Seminars, has been the course coordinator for NLATS, and has served on the Medical Staff for three Jamborees and Assistant Medical Director for multiple National Order of the Arrow Conferences. He was the Safety Officer for the Mark Twain Project of ArrowCorps 5. At the 2009 NOAC, he served as the Lead Adviser for Administrative Services. Chris has served as the Central Region Chairman of the Order of the Arrow and on the National Order of the Arrow Committee since 2007.
Dr. Grove graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1992 with a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Doctor of Medicine in 1996 from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Chris later completed his residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Professionally, Chris is a board certified general surgeon with Miami County Surgeons and Upper Valley Profession Corporation in Troy, Ohio. Chris is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is the Membership Chairman of the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.
In his spare time, Chris volunteers at Wright State University as Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery, SCUBA dives, plays racquetball and travels but above all Chris spends most of his non-scouting time with his wife Rebecca, their 3 year old daughter Abigail, and their 5 1/2 month old son Ben.
